I love this story because it gives me a great life lesson! It reminds me that we often face challenges in life, and how we choose to respond to these challenges can define who we are. Little Lucy demonstrates resilience and determination. Through Lucy’s struggles, I find inspiration and encouragement to overcome my own obstacles, reminding me of the importance of a positive attitude in the face of adversity.

I am so very happy today because I was awarded the second prize for my book in the category Creative Writing Juniors at Saanich Fair! This recognition has truly made all the hard work worth it, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to see my efforts pay off. What is more, I won a Smart Cookie Award and received a delightful box of goodies from Sidney Bakery, filled with delicious treats. My parents and myself are incredibly proud about this success, as it reflects not only my dedication to writing but also the unwavering support they have provided me throughout this journey. This experience motivates me to continue pursuing my passion for storytelling, and I am excited to see where it takes me next!

On July 13th, I had my lemonade stand at the Highlands Market, and I couldn’t be more proud and grateful! The sun was shining brightly, creating the perfect atmosphere for a fun day of sales. I had many customers who enjoyed some refreshing drinks with the following delightful flavours: Strawberry/Lime, Blackberry, and Berry Mix — perfect for chasing away the heat! Each sip seemed to bring smiles to faces as families gathered around my stand. I was really lucky as I got a surprise visit from the Domino’s Pizza manager, who provided my lemonade stand with Domino’s pizza coupons to give out with the sold lemonade, which delighted my customers even more! Overall, it was a fantastic day filled with laughter, community spirit, and wonderful connections!

This is my first post! I would love to talk to you about my first book and answer some questions that people oftentimes ask me, like How did you come up with your character’s name? or Why did you decide to write your book? I think it’s important to engage with readers and explore their curiosities, as this can lead to deeper connections :)
The answers are really easy! I literally decided to write my book spontaneously while walking at Royal Roads University, inspired by the serene environment and the rustling leaves that surrounded me. I thought of a girl named Lucy from my school and I decided that this name would be the perfect character’s name for my story. Lucy from school is just like the character I was thinking of: cute, little, kind and a really nice person. If I met my character Little Lucy in real life, I would say to her, “Hi, you look just like me!” :) I personally would behave the same way Little Lucy did if I got lost in the forest—being worried but brave and strong!
